Matthew Borgmeyer, MD

Obstetrician Gynecologist

Following medical school, Dr. Borgmeyer completed his training in OB/GYN at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. While always intending on returning to Columbia after his training, Dr. Borgmeyer decided to serve his country in the United States Air Force as an active-duty Obstetrician/Gynecologist following residency. As a Major, he served as interim Chief of the Medical Staff and was chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the second largest obstetrical service in the Air Force. While away from Missouri, his family continued to grow and Dr. Borgmeyer decided it was time to return home and be closer to his family. Dr. Borgmeyer met his wife of 25 years in high school. They married after both graduating from the University of Missouri. He and his wife now have two of their three children attending the same university and the youngest attending Rock Bridge High.

Switched my OB in my second trimester to Dr. Borgmeyer after a friend recommended him. He is absolutely amazing. He listens and makes direct eye contact when speaking, so you know you have his full attention. He fully explains things and is very kind. My sister now sees him for postpartum complications and enjoys him as much as I do. Cannot recommend him enough. Appreciate him guiding me through my first pregnancy.

I highly recommend Dr.Borgmeyer. He was my OB for my first pregnancy. I’d never had a male doctor so I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about it (I know it shouldn’t matter). I literally never had a moment of feeling uncomfortable at all. He is so patient and kind. He always asked if I had any questions and thoroughly explained everything. My baby came early and he wasn’t able to be there for delivery unfortunately. We still had a great delivery but we were definitely sad he couldn’t be there. He still came in and saw us the next day to check on us and meet our sweet new baby boy. Thank you for being a part of an amazing pregnancy and delivery experience Dr. Borgmeyer! We appreciate you!

I have had very painful periods since I was 16 (now 25) and 3 doctors' solutions was to just put me on birth control since they only did a simple pelvic exam and nothing was out of the ordinary. I switch to Dr. Borgmeyer after terrible experiences with MU and the first thing he did when I told him about my issues was to get me an ultrasound. Turns out I had polyps inside my uterus. He is very nice and actually listens to your issues and tries to find out why; not just give you something to mask it. He did a great job with the polyp surgery. Also, he tells you all your options and suggests great additives like a cervical block to help with IUD insertion. Made that experience a million times better then when MU did my first one. I cannot recommend him enough.
